Make-A-Wish
Foundation
Our donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts will grant a
special wish to one child between the ages of 2 1/2 and 18 with a
life-threatening illness. The donation will cover the entire wish so
the family of the child will not bear any cost when the wish is
granted. The wish of each child is different and reflects the unique
and personal sense of their dreams. The Make-A-Wish foundation ensures
that they will do everything possible to make each wish a reality and
one which the family will remember and cherish.

Jewish
Big Brother & Big Sister Association
Our grant will match a Jewish Big Brother or Big Sister with a Little
Brother or Little Sister. The Jewish Big Brother & Big Sister
Association plays an
important role in: Helping children and parents who have experienced
loss; Ensuring the continuity of Jewish life for single parent families;
Working with new American families to succeed in an unfamiliar culture;
and Aiding children facing unprecedented complexities and stress in
their lives.

Ballet
Rox
Ballet Rox is an
intensive dance training program in which racially diverse Boston
children, ages 8 to 16, from low-income households study and perform
ballet, tap, hip-hop, flamenco, dance history, and music appreciation. A
highlight of the year is their performance, Urban Nutcracker.

Spontaneous
Celebrations
This group has an after-school program free to its students for four
afternoons a week. During this time the children work on their
artistic abilities, including the performing arts. They get to use
their talents at the many festivals that Spontaneous Celebrations hold
for the community.

Camp
Avoda Alumni Association
This grant will be used to provide a scholarship for a young boy to
attend Camp Avoda for one month in the summer of 2003. For over 75
years Camp Avoda has provided Jewish boys a safe and fun filled camping
experience. Located on Lake Tispaquin, Camp Avoda offers a wide range of
activities catered to a boy's individual interests.

Brothers of Massachusetts Bay
Our grant will enable Big Brothers of Massachusetts Bay to make a new
Big Brother/ Little Brother match.
Big Brothers of Massachusetts Bay’s mission is to promote the healthy
development of children through the nurturing of continuing, one-to-one
friendships with caring responsible adults, supported by trained
professional staff.

Youth Group Advisor
Linda was the youth commissioner at Temple Beth Avodah. To
strengthen BAYGL (the High School Youth Group), Linda believed a strong presence at the Junior High level
was necessary.

Project
Parents
Our grant will allow Project Parents
to bring 5 reading parties to a Community Center in Boston (currently
they take place in 3 Boston Community Centers and 2 housing
developments). A reading party is Project Parents’ innovative way of
helping to make reading and writing fun by creating a festive
environment to deliver reading games. At every party, each family
attending receives a free book, and prizes are awarded.

Tenacity
The
goal of this intensive program
is to uplift children’s lives by providing tennis, academic tutoring,
and life-skill development for urban youth.

Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports (VASS)
Scholarship money has been donated to the VASS program to be used by
Massachusetts' youth so they can enjoy the mountains. VASS has adaptive
ski equipment to meet each student's individual needs and gives specific
instruction and guidance while on the mountain.

Newton South Assistant Girl’s Tennis Coach
Linda
graciously volunteered as assistant coach for eleven years
to ensure the continued success of the
program when the coaching position was cut from the school budget. To
continue her legacy the fund will contribute the cost necessary for a
coach.

Sister Association of Greater Boston
Our grant will match a
girl (Little Sister) between the ages of 7 and 15 who is in need of
service with a caring and supportive volunteer (Big Sister). The
contribution will include the recruitment, screening, training and
on-going support of the volunteer. The mission of the program is
to help girls realize their potential by providing them with positive
mentoring relationships with women.

Olympics of Massachusetts
The donated money will allow 10 children to participate for the year
in all the programs.

Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism
The Foundation aids financially disadvantaged families who need
assistance in caring for their children with autism and funds education
and research into the causes and consequences of childhood autism.
